Pet Carriers

Pet carriers are products that make it easier for owners to carry their pets around when they need to take them somewhere. So, for example, you may be moving house and need a safe way of getting your rabbit to its new home. Or, you may need a carrier that can be used to carry a small animal such as a cat or a guinea pig to the vets. A pet carrier could be a useful investment to make here.

There are many different options to choose from with pet carriers. At the simplest level these are often cage like products. These are simply designed to take your animal from A to B. Most will come with some form of carrying handle to make them easier to transport around.

Many small pets don’t much like cages though and may refuse to get into them. Pod like pet carriers may be an option worth considering as an alternative. These can be small enough for a pet mouse or large enough for a cat or small dog. The carrier designs here often suit more pets as they feel more secure in them. Many find them less intimidating than open cages.

These kinds of pet carriers are usually dome shaped and made out of hard or soft plastic materials with a handle on the top. Unlike cages, they are covered which can make the pets being carried in them feel more secure. Some will have a wire or gauze like front that opens and closes so that the pet gets some light and can see what is going on. Soft kennels are a similar option here.

Over the years pet carriers have got a little more funky and trendy and many now come in rucksack, bag or stroller based designs. So, with a rucksack or bag types of pet carrier you could put your cat or small dog into a special compartment and the carrier then folds around it. Your pet will feel secure and you may find that carrying it around this way is easier than using a standard carrier.

Larger pets may also be better transported in stroller types of pet carriers. These are kind of like buggies or shopping carts with a place for the pet to sit in. These are particularly easy to push around and would take the strain a little more if your pet is a bit heavier than the norm.
